1.Computing and storage platforms

Rack server

The rack server is from IBM, with the model of System X3950 X6. It is equipped with the Intel E7-8800v2 series processor, specifically 8 Xeon E7-8857212C 12C 3.0GHz 30M Cache 8.0GT/S, possessing a total of 96 computing cores. This server has already been used in applied research on simulations  of ocean circulation and storm surges.

Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks (RAID)

The Raid we own is from Synology, with the model of DS3617xs. Its storage space has been expanded to a total of 300TB, which is already used to store a vast amount of ocean data sets. This device provides reliable and efficient data storage solutions, enabling easy access and management of the extensive oceanic data.

2.Deep Ocean Moored Observation Platform

Our moored observation platform is composed of acoustic Doppler current profilers, CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) sensors, current meters, acoustic releasers, kevlar ropes, and glass floats. This platform is designed for circulation observations, capable of acquiring long-term, continuous data on key oceanographic parameters such as temperature, salinity, pressure, dissolved oxygen, and current velocity. The data collected from this observation system provides critical support for research on abyssal circulation dynamics.
