Scientific Instruments
The center multiple internationally accredited deep-sea Hydrostatic Test Systems capable of reproducing hydrostatic environments equivalent to depths exceeding 10,000 meters. These systems support high-pressure, temperature-controlled, and fatigue-cycle testing for various ocean instruments and structures.

Equipped with advanced five-axis CNC machining centers, turning-milling composite centers, lathes, boring and grinding machines, wire cutting, EDM, and welding facilities. The center provides high-precision machining and maintenance for complex components, enabling self-developed production of specialized instruments and non-standard parts.
Dimensions: 22 m (L) × 10 m (W) × 20 m (D) .
Main applications include:
• Underwater commissioning and demonstrations for HOVS, ROVs, AUVs, gliders, and landers
• Material corrosion resistance and sealing tests
• Mooring system, docking, and communication experiments
• ROV/HOV driver training and operational procedure testing
Responsible for the assembly, calibration, testing, and maintenance of large-scale equipment such as unmanned and manned submersibles, providing technical and spatial support for the Research and Development of marine scientific instruments.
The laboratory is located at the Nanshan Port site with a total area of approximately 880 m². It was officially inaugurated in June 2023, and currently, human-occupied vehicle (HOV) has been officially stationed there. The facility houses the world’s first 200 MPa large-volume Deep-Sea Low-Temperature Hydrostatic Test System (Model 20/10) and is open to the public for shared use, supporting the operation, maintenance, and shore-based testing of manned/unmanned submersibles and other deep-sea scientific equipment.
