HOV Shenhaiyongshi
Shenhaiyongshi,a 4,500-meter-class manned submersible, is developed with the support by the National High Technology Research and Development Program (“863”program) during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period (2011-2015) and the National Key Research and Development Program of China during “13th Five-year Plan” period (2016-2020), whose localization rate reached 95 percent. Upon completion of its sea-trial in October 2017, it is delivered to the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences for operation and maintenance since November 2017.
HOV Fendouzhe
Fendouzhe, is a full-ocean-depth submersible which was supported by National Key Research and Development Program of China during “13th Five-year Plan” period (2016-2020). During its sea trail, Fendouzhe reached a depth of 10,909 meters at the bottom of the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench in November, 2020, and set a new depth record of domestic manned submersibles in China. It is delivered to the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and came into service in March 2021.

Achievements
1.Established an efficient and effective HOV operation and maintenance system, guaranteed stable and reliable performance of submersibles in dives at high frequency and great depths.
2.Developed, tested and applied various domestically developed scientific instruments and equipment, contributed in promoting the localization process of deep-sea equipment.
3.Obtained a great number of observation, samples and data of great scientific value in the deep-sea, especially hadal zone research.
4.Break the depth record of 1,000 meters of archaeological exploration in China, and open a new era of deep-sea archaeological exploration.
5.Built up underwater search and emergency salvage/rescue capabilities.
6.Carried out international manned deep diving cruises, laying the foundation for the "Global Trench Exploration and Dive Project" and HOV-based international deep-sea research platform.
7.By December 13, 2024, HOV Shenhaiyongshi had made a total of 778 dives, while the HOV Fendouzhe had made a total of 336 dives.
