The Deep-sea Archaeology AUV

Dec 19,2024

The deep-sea archaeology AUV is an autonomous exploration platform designed for fine investigation of seabed targets, and the development is supported by the National Key Research and Development Program of China. The deep-sea archaeology AUV can operates at a maximum depth of 1000 meters, the cruising speed ranges to 2 knots, and underwater operating time can be up to 15 hours. The external dimensions of the deep-sea archaeology AUV are φ350 mm*3.8 m, and the weight in air is about 260 kg. Equipped with side-scan sonar, forward-looking sonar and cameras, the deep-sea archaeology AUV is capable of conducting wide-area rapid search and close-range fine detection of targets on the seabed, obtaining wide-area acoustic detection data and high-resolution video images of the seabed area. The deep-sea archaeology AUV can provide support for deep-sea archaeological exploration, underwater investigation, specific target search and identification, and have broad application potential.
