R/V TAN SUO ER HAO
The R/V TAN SUO ER HAO is a mothership for 4500m and 10000m depth manned/unmanned submersible, operated by the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IDSSE-CAS).
The ship has a total of 13 laboratories, such as electromechanical laboratory, comprehensive laboratory, biology, geology, chemistry, geophysics special laboratory, low-temperature sample chamber, acoustic control room, data processing center, etc. In addition, it is equipped with 100 t stern A-shaped frame (50 t guide mechanism), 10 t telescopic jib crane, the full-ocean -depth geological winch, CTD winch, optical cable winch, full-ocean–depth ultra-short baseline positioning, underwater acoustic communication, multi-beam sounding system, which can carry out manned deep diving research operations, deep-sea comprehensive scientific operations, engineering equipment sea trials and other scientific tasks.
